I have received Your Excellency's letter of the 20th instant, upon the subject of immediately directing the pursuit and apprehension of the parties concerned in the Portuguese Governor's murder, who had escaped, in order that they might be brought to trial and punished. With the contents of which I have made myself thoroughly acquainted.
